LEARN ABOUT OUR PROCESS

Choosing custom cabinets means selecting each attribute of your cabinets. Every element of your cabinets can be changed. We embark on a creative journey to go from idea to installation. Here’s what that exploration can look like.

3. PROJECT BID & CONTRACT

After we have refined our drawings, we put together a bid. Our bid letter will include all of the scope we have discussed, including hardware that is to be included in our cabinets. This typically takes one week from when a bid is requested. Sometimes revisions to the designs are made after a bid letter is sent and, when that occurs, an adjusted total will be sent. Once a bid has been accepted, we will put together a contract.

2. DRAWINGS

After our initial meeting, we will draft drawings for your cabinets and refine the layouts to best utilize the space, including optimizing the cabinet sizes for their desired functional hardware. To accomplish this, we may schedule a visit to your site to take rough measurements. Next, we will send those drawings to you and we will review them together. Though we have usually captured the vision, sometimes the first design is not the best design. Often, after seeing the ideas come to life in the initial drawings, there are  some  changes people wish to make.  We will continue to collaborate on the layout to explore alternatives in the design of your ideal space. On average, the revision process takes 2-4 weeks from when we first meet with you.

1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF

When you are thinking about collaborating with us to design and fabricate your cabinets, the first step is to have an introductory meeting at our showroom. During this phase, while you get to know us and see if we are a good fit, we get to know about what you need, your functionality wish list, preferences, and taste. In preparation for our meeting, so we can better serve you, please email us ahead of time with any plans, architecutral drawings, or photos of your space, and any links or pictures to cabinets that you like. We do not want to miss you if we are out of the office, so please call or email us to schedule an appointment. Generally, we have appointment times available Tuesday through Thursday.

4. FINAL MEASURE

After a contract is signed and deposit paid, one of our highly skilled cabinet installers will be scheduled to take detailed measurements of the space where the cabinets will be installed. We will make any adjustments needed to the drawings based on the measure, and send the revisions back to you and the installer for final approval. Then, fabrication of the cabinets can begin. The scheduled date of the final measure is dependent on the current conditions of the project site, and the expected production period.

5. FABRICATION

After final design approval, your project is scheduled for fabrication with our production team. Hardware is ordered, a stain sample or paint match (if applicable) is made for your approval, and the cabinet plans are prepared for our production team. We keep communications going throughout the production process with production updates and photos highlighting project milestones.  As the fabrication nears completion, we will reach out to you to schedule delivery. The length of time for this phase will vary based on the scope of the project. An estimated time frame  for production and completion will be included in your project contract.

6. INSTALLATION

If you chose to use our installer service, we can begin installation after delivery. We meticulously focus on every aspect of the installation to ensure your cabinets are well set - from leveling cabinets on toe kicks, all the way down to scribing panels and fillers to your walls, ceilings, and floors, and aligning fronts to have a consistent reveal. Typically, this process will take 2-3 days until the cabinets are ready for stone templating. We are often finished fine tuning the install before the stoneworkers install the stone. When we have completed the installation, we may take photos of the project for our portfolio and social media.
